Thought you dog lovers might like this. A true heart-warming story of a dog's devotion to his master is revealed here in this unusual memorial to a loving dog. For many years Shep accompanied his owner to the railroad station, waiting patiently for his return from the frequent trips the man took. From one of these trips, the master, having died, never returned. Shep met every train at the Fort Benton station for many years, expecting to see his master's face. The devoted dog spent the last years of his life at the station, fed and cared for by railroad employees. Complete story appeared in The Reader's Digest several years ago. The monument stands high above the Missouri at Fort Benton, not far off U.S. Highway 87.
