A real railroad in miniature

ANNOUNCEMENT

'13th Annual Spring Show, South Shasta Lines Model Railroad, O gauge, and old time live Steam Traction engines in operation. Two miles southeast of Gerber, California on the G. A. Humann Ranch. Shows every Sunday in April, 1 to 6 p.m. Admission to both shows by donation-Adults 75cent, children 50cent.'

The model railroad is a inch scale replica of the real Southern Pacific from Gerber to Dunsmuir. All locomotives, freight and passenger cars, bridges, buildings, and etc., are built by hand. Trains are operated by two engineers, my wife and myself, over 750 feet of track by timetable. Ten locomotives are on the roster and with their consist, freight or passenger, run thru scenery that actually exists, the it be in miniature. All is located in a 36' X 60' basement.

The Steam Traction Shows big attraction is hay rides. Two trailers are hooked in tandem behind a steam engine operated by my son, Paul. Also on display will be a Case water wagon, a 28 X 46 Case thresher, and an 8' John Deere binder. All restored and to be operated for demonstration. On display, but not in operation, an early model of the first McCormick Deering track type tractor.

Sunday shows during April 1962 netted 2200 people who came from 86 California towns, 7 states, and two foreign countries, according to the guest register.
